Ich hatte das Thema 'barfuß' ja schon mehrmals angesprochen, wer sich nicht erinnern kann, 'barfuß im Büro zum Ersten' und 'barfuß im Büro zum Zweiten'.
Jetzt ist ja Sommer hier und die Außentemperatur sind recht angenehm. Dies führt bei den Kiwis anscheinend dazu, dass sie überall barfuß rumlaufen, nicht nur im Büro oder im Park oder am Strand - wo ich es ja noch verstehen könnte - nein, quasi den ganzen Tag barfuß und überall. Um 21h00 abends beim Einkaufen im Supermarkt! Eine nicht unbeträchtliche Anzahl von Kiwis schlendert so durch den Laden. Auf der Straße sowieso!
Wenn man diese Temperaturen schon als so angenehm empfindet, frage ich mich nur, warum die Kiwis sich nicht noch freizügiger verhalten und nur noch in Badehose oder oben ohne rumlaufen? Vielleicht kommt das ja noch ....
I am surprised that you are surprised ... the 'bare feet everywhere' is the reputation that seems to run the furthest ahead of the Kiwis. .. in fact, my friends here in Melbourne (Di says 'hi') specifically asked, how you are coping with that.
ReplyDelete.. on that note, I think you should challenge them and appear in swimming trunks ... after all, how many Germans do they know to compare you to?
Thanks for the info about the Kiwi reputation. Well, it just shows that I am an ignorant continental European who has not travelled alot nor has met a lot of Kiwis who seem to be concentrated in Sydney, Melbourne and London anyway.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, there are tons of Germans in NZ, at least this is my impession, and to my own embarrassment, most of them expect to have things in NZ they are used to have actually only in Germany, e.g. 'Schwarzbrot' and fireworks on New Year's eve
Coming back to the bare feet and how I cope with it. It seems to me that Kiwis are fairly well behaved people and they pay attention to the hygiene and wash their feet regularily ... so up until now, I took note of this behaviour and have no complaints.
And of course, all Kiwis are hobbits and everybody know that hobbits run around barefeet ...
