Land of the birds ... beer and women

Yes, another name for NZ!

New Zealand was isolated for a very long time - actually 65 million year of isolation from any other land mass - and having no land mammals, the birds of New Zealand have evolved to include a large number of unique species.

Captain James Cook already noted that the bird song was deafening. My personal experience is the song of a Tui that lives just behind our sleeping room. Amazing sound, clear voice and penetrating.

The Tui bird likes the nectar of the New Zealand flax. This nectar sometimes ferments, resulting in the Tui flying in a fashion that suggests that they might be drunk.

The Tui brewery put the Tui bird on its label and became a world landmark for NZ and as they say 'If you didn't know Tui was established in 1889 you've probably been in a coma for quite some time!'

And of course the brewing of Tui is garanteed by the Tui Brewery Girls day and night.
