Today I was out with my colleagues for Xmas lunch.
Two foreigners - Charley and myself - wanted to know why the kiwi is the national symbol of NZ. This triggered an interesting discussion.
First of all, nobody really knows why the kiwi is the NZ symbol. Secondly, everybodies agreed that it is actually hard to see a kiwi in real nature, hidden most of the time and only active during night time.
Thirdly and mostly, the kiwi is a clear looser amongst all animals even for NZ standards. It is literally eaten by every other animal and quite stupid!
Here we go! Long live the kiwi.
