Tory Channel

Tory Channel was named after the New Zealand Company ship 'Tory' which sailed through the channel in 1839 en route to Wellington. The Maori name is 'Kura-te-au', the red current, said to be stained by the blood of the giant octupus killed by Kupe in Maori mythology. The red colour of the water sometimes apparent here is cuased be the presence of krill.

Neue Verkehrsregeln in Neuseeland ...

Nicht dass Ihr glaubt, man fährt jetzt in Neuseeland auf der rechten Seite! Soweit ist es dann doch nicht gekommen. Aber zwei ziemlich seltsame Regeln wurden an die internationalen Gepflogenheiten im Straßenverkehr heute morgen um 5 Uhr angepaßt.

As you can imagine we are going to need an army of armour and weapons dressers to help our extras and stunt performers get dressed each day. 

We are looking for:

Keen, enthusiastic people who can follow instructions and are good with people

A few points they should know before applying:
It is a casual position, day by day with no guarantees.
There is no option to do part days.
There will be very early starts and late finishes so they are long days.
They need to be physically fit and be able to bend, kneel, lift and carry
weapons and armour (not real armour and weapons obviously but still heavy).
They will get dirty.
They will be on your feet all day
They will be a dresser, and will work under experienced team leaders

They will get fed breakfast and lunch and many cups of coffee

New Zealand: Saudi Arabia of milk?

Well, some say (mostly Americans) that New Zealand is the Saudi-Arabia of milk. NZ produces heaps of milk and exports most of it.
Partly true, NZ produces a lot of milk, but on a worldwide scale on a tiny part is exported anyway. True NZ is the biggest exporter but in no way it is acting like Saudi-Arabia ...
